What we do
​The Deep Ecology Academy offers a lively variety of tracks, (individual and group) courses, programs and learning circles that are ever changing and evolving.
Through intentionally exploring the outdoors, embodied learning, sharing old and new knowledge, nature art and inspiring stories about practices that (re)connect us, Roots to Rise aims to heal our connection to the earth, to ourselves and our loved ones, and to protect and cherish all life.

Get to Know Us
Roots to Rise was founded by biologist and leadership educator Suzanne Valkman. The courses are supported by a team of amazing professionals who enrich the programmes with their expertise and (cooking) skills.
​In order to understand the roots of our existence and the way forward we need to understand ecology and the way everything is interconnected. The depth of this interdependence is far more complex than we often grasp. We stand on the shoulders of friends and teachers of life, we honor our ancestors and the sacred land that we live and work on and we acknowledge our kin in all Kingdoms of life.
Roots to Rise is founded with the aim to inspire deep ecology action and awaken ecological consiousness through a practical method for (inner) transformation.
